Face ID on my iPhone has become really unreliable after a small knock against the desk. It still unlocks with the passcode and everything else works, but Face ID fails most of the time now. Ive cleaned the top sensor area and reset it once already. Anyone had this repaired without wiping the phone?

Face ID started playing up on mine after what looked like a harmless bump, so for a few days I assumed it was just software being weird. Resetting Face ID did nothing, and cleaning around the top of the screen made no difference either. Typing the passcode every time got old pretty quickly. Thats when I booked an iphone repair check instead of messing with more settings. They tested the front sensor area, sorted the issue, and everything on the phone stayed exactly where it was.
