So I've had my 2017 A5 Sportback for about two years now and there's something that's been bugging me pretty much since I bought it, but I've never really known whether it's normal or not. Every single time I shift from park or drive into reverse, there's this audible clunk or thud that comes from the transmission area, almost like the gearbox is engaging with a *** of force. It's not a violent noise or anything, but it's definitely noticeable and I've always wondered if it's just a characteristic of the ZF 8-speed or if it's a sign that something isn't quite right.
