From an Experienced Driver on an Off-Roading or Car Enthusiast (4 อ่าน)

It’s been a while since we’ve done a long cross-country drive, but we’re planning to head to Fujairah next Thursday to escape the city for a ***. My SUV has been mostly used for city commutes and short hops lately, so I’m going to spend this weekend giving it a thorough check. I’ve got my own little routine down for getting your vehicle ready for extended drives, which usually involves a deep dive on the tires, all fluids, and making sure the AC is blowing ice cold. I’m particularly cautious about tire pressure with the temperatures we’re still having; I always check them first thing in the morning before the sun gets to them. But I’m curious what other seasoned drivers here do. Do you have any specific tricks or less obvious things you always check before a long trip? For instance, I once had a small rock chip in my windshield turn into a massive crack from the heat difference between the AC inside and the hot air outside while driving. So now, a thorough windshield inspection is a must on my list. What’s on yours?
