Avoid station chaos: Howrah taxi transfer (7 อ่าน)

Imagine hauling a camera bag and a heavy suitcase through a literal sea of people on the Howrah Bridge while the sun is beating down relentlessly. That was me last summer, and honestly, the sheer sensory overload of Kolkata can be a lot to handle if you have nott secured your ride beforehand. I am currently mapping out my return to the city s historic northern quarters and checking the sonagachi to howrah distance to make sure I do not miss my return train due to the infamous afternoon gridlock. To keep things civilized this time, I have opted for a private car via GetTransfer. There is a massive peace-of-mind factor in knowing exactly which vehicle is picking you up and having a driver who actually meets you at the arrivals point. It completely bypasses the shouting matches with the local "touts" and ensures you get a car with a trunk that actually closes and air conditioning that actually works. Plus, seeing the fixed price on the screen means no "creative" math when you finally reach the station gates.

For those who travel through West Bengal frequently, is the new flyover near the river helping at all with the commute times, or is the bridge still the primary bottleneck? I would love to know if I should leave an extra hour just in case.
