Which materials make the most secure Front Doors? (19 views)

We live on a fairly busy street and I want to upgrade our entryway specifically to improve our home security. I am looking for something that can withstand heavy impacts and forced entry attempts. Which materials make the most secure Front Doors on the residential market right now?

When it comes to maximizing residential security and preventing forced entry, heavy-duty steel is traditionally the absolute best material you can buy. However, premium fiberglass Front Doors have become incredibly popular because their reinforced composite edges and solid polyurethane cores offer comparable impact resistance to steel without the risk of denting or rusting. Regardless of the material you choose, the real security comes from upgrading the wooden jambs with elongated steel strike plates and installing a high-quality deadbolt system.

Most burglars will not bother trying to smash through a solid slab anyway. Upgrading the deadbolt and reinforcing the wooden door jambs with long screws is usually the best defense.
