Fishing as a hobby (76 views)

Hi everyone! I always loved going fishing with my dad, but I moved far away from him, and we only fished together on rare holidays a couple of times a year. It was always a big event, for which we spent a whole week preparing, and we always took extra time off work. Now I don't have that much time for it, so I was wondering how much time you spend preparing for fishing?

It's a great hobby, but it does take a lot of time, and you can't always control everything, like the weather and the season. I'd say I spend a few evenings after work finding a suitable spot, checking maps, reading up on the fish that inha*** it and the right gear to use, and usually head out on Friday evenings right after work.

As someone who fishes mostly on weekends, I want to make every trip count. Fishbox fishing app helps me prepare before I leave by showing weather forecasts, wind conditions, and the times when fish are expected to be more active. I don't expect the app to magically find fish for me, but it helps me choose a better location and a better time to fish. I spend less time guessing and more time enjoying the experience, which is exactly what I was looking for when I started using the app.
