I am planning to start preserving more food this year, including canning vegetables and storing root crops like potatoes and onions. I want to use our lower storage room as a cold cellar, but I am worried about humidity control. How do you keep the space cool and ventilated enough for food safety without letting dampness and mold ruin the jars and paper bags?

Keeping your pantry space properly regulated is essential, as excess humidity will quickly ruin your hard work and spoil food containers. We faced a similar issue when trying to organize a clean storage area for our home preserves in Canada. Preventing mold growth and damp floors was a major challenge for our property near Hamilton. If you want to check out the local team that helped us secure our storage space, visiting https://directwaterproofing.ca/basement-waterproofing-hamilton/ is highly recommended.
