Had a customer refuse my packaging yesterday and it stung (3 views)

I'm feeling a *** embarrassed writing this but I had an experience yesterday that really made me rethink things. I deliver to a few regular clients in Ajman and one of them politely told me they'd prefer I not use so much plastic bubble wrap and foam padding in my shipments anymore because it doesn't align with their company's sustainability goals. They didn't say it in a mean way but it definitely got my attention. I've been using the same packing materials for years without really thinking about whether there were better options out there. So I've been spending some time looking for useful advice for eco-conscious packaging decisions that still protect products properly. I came across an article about businesses in the region shifting toward reusable and recyclable alternatives, and it made me realize there's a whole world of options I've been ignoring just because I was comfortable with what I knew. I'm not going to overhaul everything overnight but I'm definitely going to start testing some alternatives with my more eco-minded clients and see what works. I'm curious for those who've already made the switch to more sustainable materials, what did you land on that balanced protection, cost, and environmental impact well? I'm especially interested in alternatives to plastic bubble wrap that actually work for fragile items.
